First Silithus Raid Boss Summoning

Filed under: News — Lauran @ 3:46 pm

I’m delighted to announce that Fates Requiem achieved an Eonar server first in Silithus on Sunday. JPoole, a Fates officer, with help from many guild members and after grinding reputation for several days, reached Revered with the Cenarion Circle, and was able to summon a Royal of the Abyssal Council, High Marshall Whirlaxis (the wind aspect). Congratulations to Demona on her shiny new Windshear Cape.

We also summoned Prince Skaldrenox (the fire aspect) two times, Lord Skwol (the water aspect — bring extra druids for poison cures) once, and Whirlaxis a second time over the course of the day; only our first Whirlaxis kill produced any epic gear, but we did receive some very nice blue Abyssal Leather gear, which went to Pandastorm (balance druid bracers), Lauran (feral druid/rogue bracers), and Mahdi (feral druid/rogue shoulders).

For a look at the fights, can view Bowinghunter’s video of Fates killing Prince Skaldrenox (fire) x2 and High Marshal Whirlaxis (on our second kill)

Recruiting

Filed under: News — Lauran @ 2:48 pm

Fates Requiem is now recruiting for Molten Core and beyond. We are interested in expanding our ranks to include a few more players.

We are recruiting the following:

  • 2 Warriors (5 points in defiance required). You do not need to be specced to tank beyond that, but you will need to tank on occasion so you must know how to. We don’t have any dual wield fury warriors at the moment, one might be a welcome addition.
  • 1 Hunter — Must understand threat and threat reduction, and will be expected to learn to split pull.
  • 2 Mages — Frost spec is a plus. Must be sensitive to aggro. If you think it’s fun to start off a boss fight with PoM-Pyro, don’t apply.
  • 2 Warlocks — Must like felheart. Must be sensitive to aggro, not trying for the biggest possible shadowbolt crits.
  • 2 Druids — We need druids for healing and and decursing. And if you’re restoration, well, innervate is nice. In 1.8 we’ve already got feral and balance covered, so people who plan on staying restoration would be a bonus.
  • 2 Priests — Healing and cleansing, buffing, purging. I don’t really care what your spec is as long as you can heal and have the gear for it. May consider one experienced shadow priest for the 15% shadow debuff if they’re willing to modify their spec to include both shadow and discipline threat reduction talents.
  • 2 Rogues — Preferably someone with an interesting spec, just to keep things varied. We have a fantastic sword rogue and a couple of great dagger rogues. I’d like to see one more rogue who kept improved sap to help with stealth BRD coffer runs, but the most important thing is a very thorough understanding of threat and threat reduction. We want you doing maximum damage with minimal threat, and doing your best to keep yourself alive.

New applicants must be:

  • Age 16 or older (preferably 18 or older and out of school — college is OK as long as you’ll be able to meet the raiding schedule)
  • Experienced and talented level 60s with a reasonable amount of gear from strath/scholo/brs/brd/dm or higher
  • Attuned to Molten Core
  • Attuned to Onyxia (ie, you must have the Onyxia key)
  • Reliably available Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from ~7:15pm server time to midnight server time.
  • Willing to put forth effort outside of scheduled raids to improve their gear, particularly in reaching the level of fire resistance needed for their class
  • Willing to use our required mods for your class (CT_RaidAssist for everyone; Whispercast for Paladins; Decursive for Paladins, Priests, Druids, and Mages; Healers must utilize mana conservation and understand that multiple ranks of healing should be used where appropriate)
  • Willing to install and use Teamspeak. You don’t have to talk, just listen.
  • Able to stay reliably connected without lagging out during a 40 man molten core raid when AoEs start flying

Applicants who have Molten Core experience are preferred… the less time we have to spend getting you up to speed, the more it benefits everyone.

Looting in Molten Core is handled via a Zero-Sum point system (we use the term RPP — Raid Participation Points), which does not handicap new members significantly. You can review current standings (http://www.fatesrequiem.com/rpp ) here. New members will be on a two week initiation period during which they may accumulate points but may not spend them unless the item would otherwise be sharded.

Fates Requiem is currently working on Majordomo Executus, the second to last encounter in Molten Core.
